Backyard Living Space Revival

Paver Patio + Sod

What a difference! Our client had a backyard with a lot of potential, but they just didn't use it because of shifting pavers and a deteriorating lawn. Woodlawn Landscaping to the rescue! There were a lot of steps to this project, and it changed as it went. Our client decided to add some retaining walls to replace old curbs during the project. We are always happy to work with people to accommodate. So accommodate we did, and check out the result! A beautiful outdoor area with a lush sod lawn.

Re removed all of the old pavers. Excavated down. Whoever built the patio before us used pea gravel instead of angular gravel. Which, the author suspects, is why there was such a drastic amount of shifting. All of the pea gravel had to be removed as it is unsuitable to build on. Next we put down fabric, and brought in our own gravel. We had to get some help to move the heavy precast stairs. We worked with Gentle John's moving here in portland. They helped us seat the stairs on a pad we constructed.

It's not pictured here, but a drywell was installed under the lawn. After putting down the pavers, we laid the sod and called it a day. Our customers were excited with the result and so were we.
